There are a lot of creative and passionate people with good ideas who are launching small businesses in Austin, since it’s an entrepreneurial, health-conscious and foodie city. Many great brands have started this way. And I am excited to introduce one of them to you: Katie Visco of Hot Love Soup.
In her words: “Authentic nourishment delivered weekly to your door! All our foods are 100% homemade-from-scratch-with-love. Nutrient-dense is our focus. For example, about 90-95% of our ingredients are organic, non-GMO, and sourced fresh from local farms and backyard gardens; we use grassfed/pastured meats and dairy; we typically sprout our lentils/legumes/grains for salads;Ā
and all menu items are free of gluten, dairy, soy, corn, sugar, and crap. We specialize in Paleo, Auto-Immune Paleo (AIP), GAPS, and WAPF diet-compliant foods, but we can create a custom meal plan for whatever you need.”. Read her story here.
This, folks, is as good as it gets. And because I want you to know what real, health-enhancing, disease-fighting, succulent food tastes like without having to source the ingredients and make it yourself, I have negotiated a Good Food Fighter discount for my readers:
- 15% off your first three orders if you pick up at her house, in Barton Hills
- 10% off your first three orders, delivered straight to your house
What do I recommend at Hot Love Soup?
Her Good Juju Energy Balls are delicious, the perfect fast-snack between clients or meetings, for your kids between school and soccer, even a quick breakfast. The base is organic nuts, coconut or whole oats, and local Texas honey and there are many yummy flavors. Try the Anti-Inflammatory Golden Coconut (cashew butter, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and coconut flakes). My favorite is coffee.
And actually, I ordered her coffee bombs by mistake thinking I was getting the Juju Coffee Balls, and now I’m addicted to them! Made with MCT virgin coconut oil, grass-fed butter, collagen (the magic ingredient in bone broth) and cocoa, they turn a plain cup of coffee (or Dandy Blend in my case) into a real treat–better than anything at Starbucks and a million times healthier.
Gluten-free bread!! Made with ancient grains: Sorghum, Amaranth, and Garbanzo.
Every week brings different hearty surprises, like Persian Lamb stew, Organic Heirloom Oat and Mesquite Syrup Sourdough Bread, and Lemony Kale, Quinoa, Fig, and Feta Salad.
She also makes desserts, like Mango Cream Pie with Cashew Coconut Crust and carries homemade ice cream. So there’s a lot besides soup for those 105 degree Austin days!š„
