10-20-17 update
Primal Kitchen has expanded their line to include 4 delicious salad dressings including Caesar. They are also making good power bars! Check out their website for more.
Actually there are three commercial market Salad Dressings that won’t kill you
These are the only ones I’ve found thus far on the market that are free of toxic oils—soybean, canola, corn, safflower, sunflower, cottonseed, etc. Most people who don’t understand how oils are made believe that vegetable oils are healthy, and restaurants and food manufacturers are happy to lead you along. The fact is: these oils are not real food. They are heavily processed in ways that strip them of any nutritional benefit; they are heated, treated with industrial chemicals and toxic solvents; they are deodorized because most are rancid by the time they even make it to store shelves; most are shelf-unstable and convert instantly into trans fats when cooked. You shouldn’t used expeller pressed either— they are slightly less poisonous but still no good because they are loaded with omega 6 fatty acids which are throwing off the body’s natural, essential balance.
These oils cause inflammation in the body, and inflammation is the precursor to disease. Research is finding strong links with specific diseases like Alzheimer’s and even cancer. Consuming a lot—which you will do if you eat out—will eventually cause structural changes in your fat stores and cell membranes. One study that examined soybean and canola oil on store shelves found that they were loaded with toxic trans fats. So, unless you like making your own dressing (which is even better but more time consuming), pick one of these. Bragg is olive oil based and also uses healthy apple cider vinegar. The other two (Primal Kitchen and Alpine Dressing) are made with one of the great and lesser known oils coming to prominence: avocado. If you find any others–and I’ve scoured the health food stores unsuccessfully—please let me know so I can share them with my readers!
p.s. All three are delicious but my favorite is the Greek Vinaigrette.
We are.already fans of Braggs vinegar and going to stick with coconut and olive oil from now on.
