Okay, to be fair, they are not going to kill humans, but they are definitely going to kill a lot of farmed salmon, and some wild fish, too. You may even end up eating some salmon that survived with a few wounds but still made it to your dinner plate. Yuk.

Why are wild fish swimming alongside farmed (prisoner) fish?

This is actually true. Netted pens—often round but can be all shapes—are submerged into the ocean (and other water ways) and often placed right on the migratory paths of wild salmon. These cages, or “farms”, are rampant with disease, which is controlled by drugs—similarly to cows and chickens on factory farms. All of these contaminants affect the unsuspecting wild salmon swimming by, and if they are infected by lice, they will usually die.
